This one is for all you Presbyterians out there. Well for you Emergent folks too.
My friend (and former schoolmate) Adam Walker Cleaveland has started a site for Presbyterians who are into the Emergent scene. Which is me. So I thought I'd share that with all of you. Feel free to cruise on over there. I hope it becomes a hub for emergent-minded people to have some good conversations. Also please feel free to leave questions and concerns and probe deeper if you still are on the fence about "Emergent" stuff. You can find it at http://presbymergent.org I'm also bummed that I'm not at the Mainline/Emergent conference that is happening at Columbia Seminary. Hopefully there will be more like it. presbyterian emergent emergent+church mainline+emergent/s presbyemergent.org Monday, January 29, 2007dee vee dee
Does anyone have a 2nd or rarely used DVD player that they might want to give/loan/sell (cheap under 20) to me. Or if anyone knows of someone who might fit the above description, please let me know.
I have a TV in my room but no DVD player. Leave a comment or send me an email. I'll even come pick it up (within reason). Thanks in advance!!! dvd dvd+player need Saturday, January 27, 2007ouch
I've now been up for 39 3/4 consecutive hours, I really should sleep...
Oh and sorry you don't have better pictures of the room yet. The light was bad all day due to rain. But look at it this way, it gives me more time to set everything up. So the pics will be even better when I get around to them. --------- Update 12:58a 1/28/07 It's been over 42 hours since I woke up. My body is trashed, but I'm not feeling "tired" or are my eyes beginning to feel too heavy. And I'm not doing the infamous "head nod" that usually accompanies great fatigue. I'm going to try and sleep now, and who knows what time I'll actually wake up tomorrow. But whenever I do is fine by me. Andrew+Seely personal moving Friday, January 26, 2007house'd
This is my first post from the new house!!!
Pics to come soon of before and after the "work". --------- Update 1/27/07 4:18a I'm finally done. After starting last night around 8ish and stopping with the primer at about 9 so that Bill and I could go and play some poker. I got back to the house around 1a and started in on the colors. Here are some pictures. I'll take some more and post them tomorrow with the natural light and everything off the floor. I hope I get some sleep...I may just drive back to work right now and pick up the van that I'm going to borrow and sleep in a little, then start moving tomorrow. Who knows. Feel free to call me anytime tomorrow...I'm sure I'll need the break. Eight one Eight - Eight zero Zero - One eight Nine Zero. Or better yet, stop by and help me move stuff. The pics are before and after...I tried to capture the same shots to the best of my ability. (as always click for larger pictures) Andrew+Seely personal moving Tuesday, January 23, 2007transit
In case you haven't heard already, I'm movin.
I really don't like moving, as I've talked a bit about my deep seeded desire for a sense of "home", so to pack up all of my crap, isn't exactly my favorite thing to do. At least this time, I'm getting a room of my own!!! And I'm getting one more amazing roommate. Meaning that while I'm leaving the "punnery", with Bobby, Carlos, and AJ, I get to add Bill to the lineup. AJ, Bill and I will now be housemates, in the townhouse that Bill just bought. We have yet to think of a clever as a name as the punnery, but fret you not, we are rolling ideas around. So as of this sat, I will now be located at One Zero Four Zero One (It's a palendrome!!!) Larwin Ave, Chatsworth, CA 91311. More than likely we will have a housewarming party around St. Patty's day. So save the date. Well I need to continue packing and trying to figure out what colors to paint my room. I'll try and post pics when it's all done. Andrew+Seely personal moving Friday, January 19, 2007frio
I'm here for the next 30+ hours.
Later today I'll be here, doing this...or maybe this. I have real posts coming...I SWEAR!!!! Stay tuned. --------- update 5:46p Really all I need now is this. mammoth+ca snowboarding Wednesday, January 10, 2007conceived
You MUST go and see this movie.
All I can really say is that this movie is one of the most hauntingly beautiful movies I've ever seen. (click picture to go to official site) PS Here's a fan made trailer. (It says caution SPOILERS, but I don't think it gives away too much, especially since everything is out of context.) PPS Tell everyone you know about this. movie children+of+men Monday, January 08, 2007iGot
Well folks, please welcome me to the 21st century. Today my journey back into the Mac world has started.
I am the proud new owner of an iPod shuffle. (ps I got it engraved with andrewseely.com in case you wanted to know) What fueled this purchase was a self re-newed yearning to go back to the gym (not a new years resoultion). At this point I'm pretty convinced that I'm going to make a total move to the mac world. Which means not only my new shuffle, but eventually a larger iPod, and then after that, some sort of a macbook, most likely a pro. But with Steve Job's kenote tomorrow at macworld, who knows what new and fun toys will be revealed. I might be a little late to the party, but for a long time now I've been a fan of the apple, so in case you think I'm just jumping on the bandwagon, I'm sorry you are sorely mistaken. (though I do like dual boot) Long live the mac. Andrew+Seely iPod shuffle mac apple Saturday, January 06, 2007XXXX
Best game ever...
of bowling that is. New personal best 175. thank you Andrew+Seely personal+best bowling Thursday, January 04, 2007new book
Just started this book, (click pic for amazon page). Ever since I first heard that it was coming out, I've wanted to pick it up. I first heard of Pete Rollins and his 'church' (I use that word loosely) Ikon, back when I was in Nashville for the Emergent Convention back in '05. I didn't really get to meet him, but he was sitting in a bar where I was having a drink and someone I was with knew him, but he was already engaged in some conversation so he couldn't join us.
From what I've read so far, (the intro and 1st chapter), I totally echo, what Tony has said here, as this being an integral work for those engaged with or curious about the emergent conversation. I will hopefully post some more of my thoughts about this as I continue to read.
